Belly dance

Belly dance is the term that is used to describe traditional Middle Eastern dance, specifically the Egyptian
ghawazi dance in the 19th century and
raqs sharqi in the 20th century, although nowadays it is typically used to describe all traditional Middle Eastern dances.
Although belly dance implies only the use of the belly, it is actually a dance that uses almost the entire body. Belly dance requires isolation of many different parts of the body, including the belly, hips, and chest. It is traditionally only danced by women.
Belly dance has very quickly become one of the most popular dances in Malaysia among women, although there are a few men who are attempting this dance (and are quite good at it!).
